Nellie A. Miller 82 Oblong, Illinois died Saturday May 18, 2002 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center Robinson. Nellie was born in Jasper County, Illinois in the Yale area, on March 29, 1920. She was the daughter of Alva Short and Martha (McKimmey) Short. In 1939 she married Nova Orlin Miller who died in 1966. Nellie ran Miller's Grocery Store in Hunt City, IL. for several years, worked at TRW Plant in Oblong and was a clerk at Postlewait Grocery Store in Willow Hill for several years. She attended Bethany Baptist Church north of Yale, IL. and her hobbies included working word puzzles and listening and recording country music. Willie Nelson was her hero.

Nellie is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-laws Paul & Cindy Miller, Roger & Kimberly "Kim" Miller and John & Pat Miller; 2 daughters and son-in-law Janet & John Adams and Alice Wever; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, 2 brothers and sisters-in-laws Wayne & Norma Short and Ronald & Rita Short; 1 sister Maxine Tucker, several nieces and nephews also survived.

Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son (Lloyd Miller);

2 grandsons (Scotty & Curt Miller); 4 brothers (Estel, Bill, Bob and Ken Short, 1 sister (Violet Postlewait).

Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County.
